Construction on University Drive to Begin May 25

MACOMB, IL - - Construction work on University Drive, between the Brophy Hall entrance and the intersection with Western Avenue, will begin the week of Monday, May 25, and last approximately three weeks.
The City of Macomb is having a contractor remove and reconstruct the driving surface at that location, with work being conducted on one side of the median roadway at a time. Traffic will be focused to one lane each way on the same side of the median during the duration of the construction. Once one side is complete, that side will be opened and the same work will be conducted on the opposite side of the median. This will be done to ensure travel will not be inhibited and the roadway remains open.
Access to WIU drives and parking lots will remain open during this period. The City of Macomb will ensure proper signage is placed to help direct traffic to the correct side of the road.
