May 19, 2026
MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - -The ÌÇÐÄAPP May Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP) Employee of the Month is Bridget McCormick, director of Residential Facilities and Administration in University Housing and Dining (UHDS). McCormick leads the UHDS team with enthusiasm, passion and an unmatched drive to serve our students effectively. She works tirelessly to stay on top of housing and dining trends, collaborating with partners across the state to ensure that the WIU housing and dining team excels in various areas.
Recently, McCormick has been instrumental in collaborating with students across campus to enhance dining options in the University Union, ensuring that the students' top preferences are available. She frequently partners with Sodexo to create new, exciting dining options and "eating challenge contests" that bring fun to the dining centers across campus. She is a model of collaboration and her leadership in this area is evident to everyone on campus.
Her relentless drive and strong work ethic create a positive work environment for her large team. Housing is a significant factor for prospective students when considering their higher education options and McCormick is dedicated to ensuring that our housing and dining options operate at the highest standards. She continuously assesses how to innovate, adapt or improve services to better meet the evolving needs of students. A notable example of this is her partnership with the Admissions office and other campus teams to create new rooms featuring larger bed sizes, a change driven by student demand.
McCormick is also acutely aware of the financial challenges students face and works diligently to keep residential rates at WIU as affordable and competitive as possible compared to other in-state institutions. Another significant initiative she launched is the Swipe Out Hunger Program, which allows students to donate unused meal plan dollars to those in need throughout the semester.
Additionally, she frequently serves as a board member on University Conduct Hearing boards. Her selfless contribution of time ensures student equity in the conduct process; her dedication is unmatched. During hearings, McCormick strives to understand all perspectives and guides board members toward fair and equitable outcomes.
McCormick is truly deserving of this recognition; her continuous efforts to advance our institution do not go unnoticed.
